The West Bengal Police have detained five members of a family for allegedly crossing over from Bangladesh and residing in India illegally for thirteen years

The West Bengal Police have detained five members of a family for allegedly crossing over from Bangladesh and residing in India illegally for thirteen years. The detention took place in the Dhumarpara area under the Sagardighi police station jurisdiction in Murshidabad district. The investigation revealed that the family had illegally crossed the border thirteen years ago and obtained identity and address documents.

Two of the children were born in India. Following specific intelligence inputs, the individuals were apprehended. Authorities are interrogating them to investigate if other family members are residing in the state.
