The CBSE, on June 2, opened the online portal for verification of issues observed in scanned copies of answer books and re-evaluation of answers for students dissatisfied with their board exam evaluation. The previous deadline of June 6 was extended to June 7 (midnight) by the board after several students flagged issues in accessing answer books and applying for verification and re-evaluation on the CBSE’s post-result services portal.
The board had stated that students seeking verification of issues in scanned copies of their answer books could report problems, including missing pages, omitted supplementary sheets, absent maps or graphs, blurred pages, incorrect answer books, or evaluation carried out against a different question paper set. The CBSE has come under scrutiny after several Class 12 students alleged that the scanned copies of their answer sheets uploaded by the board did not match their handwriting, prompting concerns over possible discrepancies in the on-screen marking (OSM) system. Amid the controversy, the Cabinet Secretariat announced the constitution of a one-member committee to examine the procurement of services related to the OSM system by the CBSE.
