Despite a modest start at the box office, Bobby Deol and Anurag Kashyap's Bandar registered a strong jump in collections on its second day. The film, which has drawn praise from critics and audiences for what many are calling Bobby Deol's career-best performance, recorded nearly 90 per cent growth after its opening day. According to the tracking website Sacnilk, Bandar collected Rs 95 lakh on Day 2 across 1,257 shows, compared with Rs 50 lakh on Day 1.
The film's total India nett collection now stands at Rs 1.45 crore, while its gross domestic earnings have reached Rs 1.75 crore. Ahead of the release, the makers had made it clear that they were not expecting blockbuster opening weekend numbers and were instead hoping the film would find its audience gradually through positive word of mouth rather than a wide multiplex opening.
