Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and former West Midnapore district president Sujoy Hazra has been arrested in West Midnapore in connection with extortion and land scam cases. Additionally, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Ward 101 councillor Bappaditya Dasgupta has been arrested by the Kolkata Police following allegations of extortion.
Both influential TMC leaders were detained, questioned, and subsequently taken into custody by the authorities. The action comes amid multiple incidents of Trinamool Congress leaders being arrested across West Bengal on charges of extortion and land scams as police continue to probe these complaints.
