YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has called upon the party leaders and the minority wing to wage a democratic struggle against what he called the anti-people policies of the coalition government, alleging that minorities have been deprived of welfare, political representation and even basic protection. Addressing the minority wingâs meeting at the YSRCP central office on Saturday, Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy said party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had done politics with public welfare as his sole objective and brought transformative reforms in education, healthcare, agriculture, and welfare during the partyâs tenure.
âHowever, the coalition government has failed to implement its Super Six promises while weakening the existing welfare schemes,â he said. He further claimed that the governmentâs borrowings in just two years were roughly equal to what the YSRCP government raised over five years. Responding to recent political developments, Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy criticised the government for âindulging in political theatricsâ instead of addressing public issues and alleged irregularities in DSC-2025 recruitment, stating that even genuine grievances raised by unemployed youth were being ignored. He asserted that YSRCP had filled lakhs of jobs transparently during its tenure and reiterated that the party would continue to stand firmly with minorities.
Leaders of the YSRCP minority wing accused the coalition government of betraying the Muslim community by failing to fulfil election promises and neglecting minority welfare after assuming office. They highlighted that over âš23,000 crore had been spent on minority welfare through DBT and non-DBT schemes during the YSRCPâs rule and alleged that the present administration had failed to deliver the Haj assistance commitments, weakened the Minority Finance Corporation, and endangered Waqf properties while treating minorities merely as a vote bank. The meeting also focused on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with leaders urging minorities and party cadres to remain vigilant against any attempt to remove genuine voters from the electoral rolls.
YSRCP general secretary Lella Appi Reddy, MLCs M.D. Ruhulla and Isaac Basha, minority wing president Khader Basha, working president Hafeez Khan and other leaders spoke.
