Waqf Board inspector arrested by ACB for accepting bribe in Nalgonda

• A Waqf Board inspector posted in Nalgonda district was arrested by the sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday for accepting a bribe of ₹10,000. The accused officer was identified as Shaik Mahmood.
• The bureau said the officer demanded money in exchange for submitting a factual report to the Chief Executive Officer of the Waqf Board in Hyderabad.
• The report pertained to a complaint dated February 25, 2025, regarding the registration of Jaame Masjid Abubakar Siddiq Rahmatulla Alai, Peddavoora property in Waqf Board records.
• The tainted amount was recovered and he was produced before the special judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
• Further investigation is under way.
