TDP national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that the TDP is moving forward with its allies - the Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the BJP - and will continue to be with them in public interest and keeping in view the consequences of letting the YSRCP stage a comeback in 2029. Addressing a meeting of the TDP’s cluster in-charges on Saturday, Mr. Naidu expressed confidence that the party would win the next general elections by leveraging on its strengths and carrying on with its good work for the coming three years.
‘Vicious propaganda’ He said the YSRCP unleashed a vicious propaganda against the coalition government, but the people were aware of the facts. The cluster in-charges should develop a resolve to do good for the people and grow as leaders, Mr. Naidu exhorted. Further, the TDP supremo said he was getting surveys done on leaders and would weed out non-performers and those bringing disrepute to the party through their conduct. He noted that the alliance parties were maintaining good relations with the people, had been respecting democracy, ensured welfare and development, and, more importantly, promptly correcting mistakes.
The TDP chief asserted that the government was implementing everything that it had campaigned for during the 2024 elections, and told the cadres to go to every doorstep and explain the achievements. He asserted that Mangalagiri became a TDP fortress ever since Nara Lokesh steered the party to a phenomenal victory in the constituency. Further, Mr. Naidu said it was his responsibility to win the war in 2029, but required backup from the grassroot level. The target should be to garner more votes in each polling booth than in the previous elections, he observed.
“The ruling parties have a big responsibility to fulfil and they should see to it that the YSRCP does not succeed in its bid to regain power, which is detrimental to the people,” he added. Later, the TDP chief received grievances from the public.
