The Trinamool Congress General Secretary has departed for Delhi amidst intensifying speculation of a rift among party Members of Parliament. Reports suggest several lawmakers are in contact with a Kolkata-based rebel camp, which allegedly consists of sixty state legislators who have formed a separate bloc. The party leadership, including the General Secretary and the Party Chief, is scheduled to participate in the India bloc meeting on June 8 in Delhi.
Concurrently, the state Criminal Investigation Department has summoned the General Secretary to its headquarters in Kolkata on June 8 in connection with an alleged fake signature case.
