The current global crisis highlights the critical importance of achieving self-reliance in the energy sector. Over the past twelve years, significant capacity has been built to strengthen this domain. Efforts have focused on securing oil and gas supplies from various global regions while historically increasing investments in renewable energy. While solar energy production was negligible twelve years ago, the nation now ranks among the top five countries globally.
In addition to solar power, capacity for ethanol blending has been enhanced, railway electrification has been accelerated, and work on nuclear energy has progressed. The ageing power transmission network has been modernised and expanded, the gas pipeline network has been widened, and port capacities have been boosted to improve petroleum product storage and distribution.
