A major food safety crackdown in Ghaziabad has uncovered shocking conditions at a sweet-making and storage unit ahead of the festive season and Raksha Bandhan. Food safety officials seized and destroyed around one tonne of rasgullas after reportedly finding flies, insects and unhygienic conditions at the facility.

Officials also found starch allegedly mixed into paneer used in preparing the sweets. Samples have been sent for laboratory testing, while authorities are investigating where the sweets were supplied and whether further action should be taken against the outlets involved. The final legal action will depend on the laboratory reports and investigation.
