The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the Indian cricket squad for the 2026 Asian Games, to be held from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The 15-member squad will be led by Shreyas Iyer, who replaces Suryakumar Yadav at the helm.
Suryakumar, who captained India to the T20 World Cup title earlier this year, has been dropped from the team altogether.
The 15-year-old teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been included in the squad following a record-breaking IPL 2026 campaign, where he topped the charts with 776 runs in 16 matches for Rajasthan Royals.
India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was also included in the squad for the Asian Games, though he was rested for the T20I series against Ireland and England, which will be held in June and July.
