A property dispute over a shop eviction sparked violence at Mau Bazar in Samastipur, Bihar, leaving several people injured. The dispute escalated when anti-social elements demanded a shop owner vacate his property. After he resisted, a verbal altercation turned physical, leading to a massive clash with lathis, stone-pelting, and open gunfire. Reportedly, half a dozen rounds were fired, turning the market area into a battlefield and forcing shops to shut down.
The police subsequently arrived at the scene, and the situation has since been brought under control.
