News18 In a major operation, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI)’s Nagpur Regional Unit seized over 522 kg of cannabis worth an estimated Rs 2.61 crore and arrested two people linked to an inter-state drug smuggling racket.
The operation was carried out at the Mathni Toll Plaza on Highway-53 near Mouda in Nagpur, where officials intercepted a 16-tonne Tata Motors truck travelling from the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border towards Maharashtra.
During the search, DRI officers recovered 247 packets of cannabis concealed inside eight HDPE bags hidden in specially created secret compartments within the truck.
