At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a major address outlining Uzbekistan's economic transformation, regional connectivity ambitions, and growing strategic partnership with Vladimir Putin. The Uzbek president highlighted rapid economic growth, rising foreign investment, expanding industrial capacity, energy cooperation, digital transformation, and plans to increase the country's economy to more than $240 billion by 2030.
He also proposed the creation of a Eurasian technological and industrialization belt, deeper Russia-Uzbekistan cooperation, a joint digital ecosystem, and new initiatives in education, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and tourism. The speech emphasized Uzbekistan's emergence as a major economic hub connecting Europe and Asia while positioning Central Asia as a growing center of global trade, logistics, and innovation.
