345 encroachments removed in Cyberabad on August 14 as part of ‘Walk Free’ drive
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) removed 345 encroachments across 12.45 km of roads and footpaths on Friday as part of its weekly ‘Walk Free’ initiative
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) removed 345 encroachments across 12.45 km of roads and footpaths on Friday as part of its weekly ‘Walk Free’ initiative aimed at reclaiming public spaces for pedestrians and motorists. The encroachment removal drive was carried out across all three CMC zones, with teams clearing roads, footpaths and other public spaces that had been occupied.
The Quthbullapur Zone recorded the highest number of removals, with 161 encroachments cleared across 4.6 km. The drive covered Chintal, Jeedimetla, Kompally, Gajularamaram, Nizampet, Dundigal and Medchal. In Serilingampally Zone, CMC teams removed 116 encroachments along 4.5 km.
The drive covered Ameenpur, Miyapur and Serilingampally. In Kukatpally Zone, 68 encroachments were removed across 3.35 km covering Madhapur, Kukatpally, Moosapet and Allwyn Colony. The CMC
officials said teams would continue monitoring the cleared stretches to prevent re-encroachment and ensure that the reclaimed roads, footpaths and public spaces remain accessible to the public.
