Golconda roads shut, parking restrictions for Independence Day celebrations

Traffic restrictions and elaborate parking arrangements will be in place around Golconda Fort on Saturday in view of the Independence Day celebrations at Rani Mahal Lawns. The road from Ramdevguda to Golconda Fort will be closed to general traffic from 6 a.m. to noon. The stretch will be used for vehicles carrying invited guests with A (Gold), A (Cream) and B (Blue) passes. Invitees travelling from Secunderabad, Banjara Hills, Masab Tank and Mehdipatnam have been asked to reach the venue via Rethi Bowli and Nanal Nagar Junctions, Balika Bhavan, Langer House flyover, Tippu Khan Bridge and Ramdevguda, before proceeding through Makkai Darwaza to Golconda Fort.
Vehicles with A (Gold) passes will be parked on the main road in front of the fort’s main gate, while A (Cream) and B (Blue) pass holders will park at the Golconda bus stop, about 50 metres from the main gate. C (Green) pass holders will park at Owaisi/GHMC Playground, around 500 metres from the fort. D (Red) pass holders will approach from Shaikpet Nala, Tolichowki and Seven Tombs and park inside the Area Hospital, Golconda. General public carrying E (Black) passes will be directed to parking areas at the Government Primary School near Tawakkal diversion point, Seven Tombs, Deccan Park and the football ground near Golconda Law and Order police station.
After the celebrations, vehicles will be allowed to exit through designated routes based on their pass category. The Traffic Police has asked all invitees to prominently display their passes on the left side of their windscreens and arrive at the time mentioned in their invitation cards. Additional diversions will be implemented between 10.30 a.m. and noon to facilitate the movement of invitees. General traffic from Seven Tombs towards Golconda Fort will be diverted at Golf Club and Jamali Darwaza, while vehicles approaching from under the Langer House flyover will be diverted at Bada Bazaar Junction towards GHMC Island.
Residents in the surrounding areas have been asked not to park vehicles on roads leading to Golconda Fort. The Hyderabad Traffic Police have advised commuters to use alternative routes and follow traffic updates.
