Minister of Health Satya Kumar Yadav inaugurated an outpatient (OP) block at the Government Area Hospital in Dharmavaram, Sri Sathya Sai district, on Friday (August 14, 2026), aiming to reduce waiting time and improve patient services. Speaking at a function on the hospital premises, the Minister said that monthly OP registrations had increased from 18,000 to 24,000 in the last five years.
“Keeping in view the convenience of patients, separate counters and queues have been arranged for women, men, elderly people, and persons with disabilities,” Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav said. Later, the Minister inspected various departments and wards and interacted with the patients. During interaction, the Minister sought their feedback on registration time, doctors’ availability, medicines, and sanitation.
He instructed the hospital staff to treat patients with dignity as their satisfaction remained a key measure of hospital performance. He said that the Dharmavaram Area Hospital had received medical equipment worth ₹2.10 crore over the last two years and a 10-bed dialysis centre is now functional.
“We also received the much-awaited approval for starting a blood bank. The government would strengthen healthcare and raise patient satisfaction to 90%,” he said.
