The officials on Friday (August 14, 2026) said that roads measuring 586 km in length and valued at ₹182.74 crore have been constructed in the undivided Kadapa district by the State government. At a meeting in Pulivendula to review the progress of road projects across the district, Minister of Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy and district in-charge Minister S.
Savitha directed the officials to expedite the land acquisition process for the national highways criss-crossing the district. In spite of the fund crunch, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has accorded top priority to laying of roads across the State, Mr. Janardhan Reddy stated, while instructing the officials to match the speed. The Ministers questioned the officials about the hiccups, if any, faced in executing the road projects in the district.
Of the 93 works taken up in Kadapa district, 29 have been completed, while 58 are in various stages of progress and six are in the tenders stage, the officials informed the Ministers. In Pulivendula constituency, represented by former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the government has taken up a whopping nine projects worth ₹10.55 crore.
“Five of them have been completed and even brought to use, while the remaining are in progress,” Mr. Janardhan Reddy said.
