The Telangana government has issued orders empowering the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to issue Transferable Development Rights (TDRs) for the projects executed by it in the Core Urban Region (CURE), and Peri Urban Region (PURE), besides Secunderabad Cantonment area.
Such TDRs may be used anywhere within the HMDA, as per the order. A copy of the TDR Certificate/proceedings issued by HMDA under these provisions shall be furnished to the urban local body concerned or the Future City Development Authority as the case may be for information and record, the orders said.
TDRs are issued in lieu of cash compensation against the land acquired for public purposes. They may be used for construction of additional floors or
sold at existing market value.
