A United States report alleges that 40 nations, including India, Japan, South Korea, and European Union countries, are involved in a trans-shipment scam to help China evade US tariffs. According to US President's aide Peter Navarro, Chinese products are imported, relabelled, repackaged, and shipped to America to bypass tariffs imposed since 2018.
The report claims artificial intelligence was used to identify these non-genuine goods, naming Indian regions including Pune and Gujarat. The allegations emerge while India and the US continue trade agreement negotiations and high-level talks. The claims remain unacknowledged and unverified, with no official reaction yet from the named countries.
