In an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai, veteran parliamentarian Dr. Karan Singh expressed concern over the persistent confrontation between the government and the opposition in Parliament. Reflecting on his long parliamentary tenure since 1967, Dr. Karan Singh highlighted the decline in parliamentary debate and the loss of question hour. He asserted, "Disrupting Parliament is disrupting democracy," while criticizing both the government and the opposition for a lack of cooperation.

He noted that political opponents should not be viewed as enemies and observed that Indian politics has become deeply polarized at both the central and state levels. Commenting on key leaders, Dr. Karan Singh advised Prime Minister Narendra Modi to maintain a visible presence in Parliament when in the country, while urging opposition leader Rahul Gandhi to adopt a more cautious approach rather than taking shortcuts during debates.

He further recalled past parliamentarians like Hiren Mukherji and Nath Pai as benchmark figures of parliamentary performance.
