A debate hosted by anchor Preeti highlights the escalating confrontation over student protests against alleged irregularities in the SSC CGL examinations in Jharkhand. Chief Spokesperson of Jharkhand BJP Pratul Shahdeo accused the Hemant Soren government of attempting to suppress legitimate student movements by filing serious criminal charges, including Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (attempt to murder), against non-violent protesters.
Demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation probe, Shahdeo argued that irregularities in selection results warrant central oversight. Defending the state administration, JMM spokesperson Dheeraj Dubey emphasized that CID inquiries are underway to ensure timely justice within 90 days, warning that CBI investigations often lead to prolonged delays. Congress spokesperson Saral Patel asserted that ninety-eight percent of student demands have been addressed by the state, accusing the opposition of politicising the movement.
The debate highlights the standoff between student aspirants demanding exam cancellation and the government's stance on state-level investigative procedures.
