The ongoing student agitation in Jharkhand over alleged recruitment examination irregularities has intensified following police action during an assembly march in Ranchi. Protesting students have threatened to lay siege to the Chief Minister's residence after August 15 if their demands remain unaddressed. In response, security around the Chief Minister's residence has been significantly reinforced with heavy barricading, drone surveillance, and increased police personnel.
Protesters are seeking the cancellation of examinations conducted by recruitment agencies along with a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into alleged malpractices. Meanwhile, police have registered a case booking hundreds of demonstrators involved in the march. The opposition party has backed the students, demanding a central agency investigation and criticizing the state government for police action against agitators. As student leaders refuse to call off the protest and demand structural administrative reforms, police forces and local administration remain on high alert across key locations in the capital city.
