Student protests in Ranchi at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium continue following a march to the Vidhan Sabha that resulted in a police lathi charge
Student protests in Ranchi at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium continue following a march to the Vidhan Sabha that resulted in a police lathi charge and detentions. Between 400 and 500 unidentified individuals have been booked under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Protesters from the ABVP were also taken into custody during the demonstration.
Student leader Manoj Yadav outlined key demands, including the cancellation of all examinations conducted by TDPL, JPSC, and JSSC—such as CGL, PGT, Excise, and Labor System exams—alongside a CBI probe required to submit a report within 90 days. While the state government has set up a technical expert committee for reforms, student representatives emphasized the need for constructive dialogue, accusing the administration of lacking communication while warning of further protests at the Chief Minister's residence and Raj Bhavan.
