A Central Crime Branch search inside Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Prison led to the seizure of an Android mobile phone, charger, and pen drive from the barrack of former Member of Parliament Prajwal Revanna, who is serving time in a sexual assault case. According to officials, an investigation revealed that 80 to 90 pornography videos, mostly Indian content, along with digital newspaper clippings featuring women were stored on the seized device.
Following the discovery, authorities suspended an assistant superintendent of prison for alleged dereliction of duty and issued a show-cause notice to the jail superintendent over security lapses. The Karnataka Director General of Police for Prisons confirmed that surprise raids were conducted across high-profile cells, uncovering unauthorised items such as mobile phones and notebooks. A complaint has been lodged at the Parappana Agrahara police station to probe how the device was smuggled inside, while Prajwal Revanna has been shifted under continuous CCTV surveillance.
