Shiromani Akali Dal chief and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was attacked with a sharp weapon by a man identified as Jaspal Singh at a gurdwara in Nanded, Maharashtra. The attacker, wearing Nihang attire, struck Badal on his right forearm and shoulder, leaving him injured. Security personnel who intervened to stop the attacker were also injured during the incident.
Sukhbir Singh Badal was rushed to Westside Hospital in Nanded, where medical authorities confirmed his condition is stable and non-critical. Police have arrested Jaspal Singh, who is undergoing questioning. Following the attack, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident and the security arrangements.
