BJP leader and former Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu has backed parole for Jagtar Singh Hawara, who is serving a life sentence in the case related to the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. Bittu, Beant Singh’s grandson, said an elderly and unwell mother should not suffer for her son’s actions and supported the parole plea on humanitarian grounds.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also sought 10-day parole for Hawara so he can meet his ailing mother.
