The monsoon session of Parliament faced a three-week political deadlock between the government and the opposition over the July 20 police action against protesting students, demands for Home Minister Amit Shah's statement, and alleged Ram Temple donation irregularities. According to data cited in the broadcast, Parliament lost over 144 hours across both houses, resulting in an estimated loss of 216.15 crore rupees to taxpayers.
While 19 bills were passed, several saw little to no debate, including seven bills passed in 36 minutes. In interviews, Congress Whip Nasir Hussain accused the Home Minister of avoiding Parliament, while BJP Chief Whip Sanjay Jaiswal stated the opposition repeatedly shifted goalposts to block key legislation. Separately, a three-member parliamentary committee under the Judges Inquiry Act found charges proven against former Delhi High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma after a fire at his residence revealed unexplained stacks of currency notes, opening the possibility of an impeachment motion in the upcoming winter session.
