Following targeted killings in South Kashmir, including a cop in Anantnag and two non-local labourers in Kulgam, a threat letter from a terror outfit called United Liberation Council has emerged targeting Kashmiri Pandits. Security forces suspect traditional terror groups are using new names to appear indigenous and derail security focus.
The letter threatens Kashmiri Pandits attempting to retrieve land. In response, authorities have beefed up security across migrant colonies like Sheikhpora and advised Kashmiri Pandit employees under the Prime Minister's Rehabilitation Package to work from home as a precautionary measure while agencies evaluate the threat.
