A panel discussion featuring Sandeep Unnithan and Lieutenant General (Retd) SL Narasimhan examines the escalating political and internal crisis in Pakistan surrounding former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. Lt Gen Narasimhan highlighted the growing instability across Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, noting that persistent rumours about Khan's health and lack of public appearance could trigger widespread political unrest.
Unnithan pointed to Pakistan's history of political assassinations and noted that while Khan remains extremely popular, his conflict with the military establishment presents a major challenge for Asim Munir. The panellists discussed the possibility of the Pakistani establishment attempting terror activities to divert attention from internal turmoil and external tensions, emphasising that India must remain on high alert along the Line of Control to tackle any security challenges or refugee movements.
