Cases linked to the killings of Kashmiri Hindus in the early 1990s have been reopened, with the State Investigation Agency (SIA) carrying out fresh raids in Jammu and Kashmir. The latest operation is linked to the killing of Kashmiri author Sarvanand Premi and his 27-year-old son, Varinder, who were abducted, tortured and later found dead. The SIA is questioning relatives of suspected terrorist Sher Khan and gathering fresh evidence to trace the network that allegedly provided logistical support to terrorists during the period.
The investigation is part of a wider effort to reopen long-pending cases related to the killings and exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the Valley.
