The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has installed a fully automated immunoassay analyser, costing ₹22 lakh, at its Central Hospital in Vidhyadharapuram to strengthen diagnostic services for serving and retired employees. APSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director N. Bala Subrahmanyam inaugurated the equipment on Wednesday. He said the facility would enable several advanced diagnostic tests to be conducted at the hospital, reducing employees’ dependence on private laboratories and saving them time and expenditure.
The analyser can conduct tests for thyroid profiles, tumour markers, cardiac markers, Vitamin-D and Vitamin-B12, viral markers for Hepatitis-B, Hepatitis-C and RVD, insulin and C-Peptide levels, infection-related markers and drug-level analysis. It can also help identify Type-1 and Type-2 diabetes, MODY and LADA. According to the APSRTC, the equipment has an accuracy of more than 99% and can process up to 60 samples in 30 minutes and 100 samples in an hour.
The facility is expected to speed up diagnosis and enable timely treatment decisions. Subrahmanyam said the installation was part of the Corporation’s efforts to strengthen medical infrastructure and provide accessible and cost-effective healthcare to employees, retirees and their families.
