IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, on Wednesday, accused Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao of making āfalse statementsā and attempting to mislead the public on issues related to land allocation and the proposed Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy (HILTP). Speaking to the media after a face-to-face meeting with people at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr. Sridhar Babu said the present government had allotted land at the rate of ā¹1.50 crore per acre, compared to ā¹90 lakh per acre under the previous BRS government.
He maintained that the allocations were made strictly in accordance with prescribed rules and regulations. Defending the governmentās decision, the Minister said five acres had been allotted for ā¹7.5 crore and questioned the basis of Mr. Rama Raoās allegation that the transaction involved ā¹200 crore. āKTR must explain where the ā¹200 crore figure he is quoting came from,ā he said. Sridhar Babu also alleged that the BRS leader was attempting to create unnecessary apprehension among industrialists and said such actions were detrimental to Telanganaās development.
He asserted that the HILT policy would benefit the people of Hyderabad. On development, Mr. Sridhar Babu said the Congress government was continuing policies that had been followed by previous governments where they were beneficial to the State. He also accused the previous BRS regime of causing serious damage to Telanganaās interests in matters relating to water allocations. Reiterating the governmentās commitment to protecting the Stateās water rights, the Minister said Telangana would not compromise on its rightful share of water under any circumstances.
He said the State would participate in the upcoming Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) meeting and strongly present its case to safeguard Telanganaās interests and entitlements.
