As many as 13,50,609 enumeration forms have been digitised in Dharwad district as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, accounting for 83.27% of the 16,21,961 forms distributed, Deputy Commissioner Snehal R. said in a statement. The district administration has identified 2,71,352 electors in the categories of absent, permanently shifted, deceased and duplicate entries.
These include 1,26,768 permanently shifted voters, 52,618 deceased voters, 26,756 duplicate entries, 63,667 absent voters and 1,543 cases under other categories. The number of forms digitised in the seven Assembly constituencies of the district is as follows: 69-Navalagund: 1,93,394; 70-Kundgol: 1,77,518; 71-Dharwad: 1,93,036; 72-Hubballi-Dharwad East: 1,80,738; 73-Hubballi-Dharwad Central: 2,03,269; 74-Hubballi-Dharwad West: 2,15,935, and 75-Kalaghatgi: 1,86,719.
The Deputy Commissioner, who is also the District Electoral Officer, urged members of the public and voters to cooperate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) visiting households as part of the revision exercise. She appealed to voters to fill in the required details in the enumeration forms and hand over the completed forms to the BLOs during their house-to-house visits.
The SIR is aimed at ensuring that the electoral rolls are accurate and updated by identifying eligible voters and removing entries relating to deceased, shifted, absent and duplicate electors.
