A Central Crime Branch raid at Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Central Prison led to the seizure of an Android mobile phone, charger, and pen drive from the barrack of former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna. Following the raid on high-profile inmates, Assistant Superintendent Iranna Rangapur was suspended and a show-cause notice was issued to the prison's Superintendent.
Officials acknowledged administrative faults and suspected a nexus between prison staff and inmates. The incident echoes previous controversies involving actor Darshan and VK Sasikala receiving illegal VIP perks inside the same facility. A digital infrastructure audit is underway, and an investigation into the phone seizure is ongoing.
