The student agitation in Jharkhand over alleged recruitment exam fraud entered its 19th day as protesters remained on the streets demanding action. CID investigation into the JPSC paper leak revealed explosive details from accused mastermind Abhay Tiwari, who disclosed that marks of seven candidates were inflated for money, collecting 5.8 crore rupees from 20 students. Tiwari admitted receiving 25 lakh rupees for the FRO post and 35 lakh rupees for the ACF post, revealing that fraud spanned previous JPSC exams.
JPSC chairman L Kyangte was arrested by CID, triggering political clashes between the BJP and JMM. BJP leaders alleged the arrest was intended to prevent an ED probe, while JMM defended the state investigation. Meanwhile, at Ranchi's Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, power supply was cut off and the primary generator removed, forcing protesting students to rely on a small backup generator. Despite harsh conditions, student leader Devendra Nath Mahato entered the 11th day of his hunger strike from Ranchi's Sadar Hospital, warning that agitation will intensify until demands are met.
