The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has begun questioning Air India pilots involved in the Phuket-Delhi flight AI 2379 incident, where a sudden 300-foot midair drop left over a dozen passengers injured. Technical experts from EA and Airbus have joined Indian officials in the probe, with an interim report expected by September 4.
Following the incident, top Civil Aviation Ministry sources confirmed that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has been asked to review and relook India's pilot dope test framework and study global protocols. While the ministry maintains current testing aligns with international random-testing norms, the regulator will assess potential changes to Civil Aviation Requirements to strengthen safety standards.
