Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju addressed the media regarding the ongoing disruptions in Parliament during the monsoon session. Rijiju stated that the government is fully prepared for a detailed discussion on the NEET exam paper leak issue, but the opposition parties, particularly the Congress, are running away from the debate. He revealed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker requesting him to consult and persuade opposition leaders to participate in the debate.
Rijiju expressed concern over the opposition's behaviour, stating that it is unprecedented in parliamentary democracy for an opposition to avoid debate while the government insists on discussion and providing answers. He urged opposition members to allow the House to function and participate in the discussion, adding that the government is willing to extend the session if the opposition agrees to hold a debate on the matter.
