An inquiry report investigating allegations against former Delhi High Court judge, Justice Yashwant Verma, has been tabled in the Lok Sabha. The three-member inquiry committee was constituted by the Lok Sabha Speaker after over 200 Members of Parliament submitted a petition seeking his removal following the discovery of burnt currency notes at his official residence in March last year.
Justice Verma was subsequently transferred to the Allahabad High Court. Although he submitted his resignation on April 9, the President has not accepted it. The process for his removal could proceed based on the inquiry report, which is expected to be tabled in both Houses of Parliament.
