The government is set to move a motion in the Lok Sabha to send the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act Amendment Bill 2026 to a Joint Parliamentary Committee for further scrutiny. Concerns were highlighted during the Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Rajya Sabha, where several opposition parties demanded the complete withdrawal of the bill, while others agreed to refer it to a Joint Parliamentary Committee.
