Israel's military and the Shin Bet security agency say they have carried out a major operation in Gaza, targeting and killing several senior members of Hamas' General Security Apparatus.
According to Israeli authorities, the group was responsible for protecting Hamas leaders, maintaining internal communications, coordinating movements, and supporting operational decision-making.
Among those reported killed was Hassan Rabah Hassan Labad, identified by Israel as the deputy head of the apparatus, along with other senior officials.
The IDF claims the strikes were conducted to neutralize what it described as an immediate threat and to disrupt efforts to rebuild Hamas' operational capabilities.
The operation comes amid continuing conflict in Gaza and ongoing military activity across the region.
