Donald Trump also claimed that the threats he faces are linked to his significance as president, calling himself “maybe the most consequential President".

Speaking to reporters after returning from Ohio, Donald Trump said he did not ask his advisers for many details about the threat and simply followed the advice of his security team. “I go by Secret Service and the military. They wanted me to go on a different flight, a different plane… I do what they say," Donald Trump said. He added, “I guess there was a threat out there. I didn’t really ask too much about it. I get a lot of threats." Why Did Trump Switch Planes In Turkey? Trump’s comments came after reports detailed an unusual series of aircraft changes during his recent trip to Turkey. The US President had initially travelled on the Qatar-gifted Boeing 747-8, but reportedly switched to an older Air Force One aircraft because of an alleged threat.

A Washington Post report later said Donald Trump was discreetly moved out of the older Air Force One in a catering container before being transferred to a smaller C-32A aircraft. The White House had not initially issued an official explanation for the reported switches. What Did Donald Trump Say About The Threat? Donald Trump said he did not feel the need to know the full details of the threat, saying he relies on the Secret Service and military to make such security decisions. He added that he faces several threats that are not known to the public. “I get a lot of threats," Trump said. Trump then linked the threats he receives to what he described as his importance as president.

“Non-consequential Presidents don’t get threatened, and I think I’m maybe the most consequential President," Trump said.
