The accident took place on the outskirts of Satwar village in Mogudampalli mandal. (Representative image) At least six people were killed and three others were severly injured after after a speeding tanker lorry rammed into an auto-rickshaw in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Tuesday night, police said. The accident took place on the outskirts of Satwar village in Mogudampalli mandal, under the jurisdiction of Zaheerabad police station when the tanker collided with the auto-rickshaw when it was reportedly taking a U-turn on the national highway.
The auto was carrying labourers who had come to the area for daily-wage work. The victims were reportedly returning to their native place in Karnataka’s Rajgira, after completing their work when the accident occurred. All six deceased were identified as residents of Rajgira. Three injured persons were shifted to Zaheerabad Area Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment and are reported to be in critical condition. Police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and launched rescue and relief operations.
