In his āthanksgivingā visit to Bankipur after winning the recent byelection, Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor on Tuesday met his constituents and promised to create at least 10,000 jobs for the youth within two years. Addressing a gathering at Yarpur locality while touring several areas of the Assembly constituency, he said, āMany were wondering where I had been for the past four or five days after the victory. I was working for you. If your child is educated, submit their resume at my office; we will immediately arrange jobs for at least 10,000 youth within two years.ā Kishor said people from Bankipur would get the most jobs in Bihar.
āI have urged all my contacts across the country to provide jobs to the people of Bihar. Once the Jan Suraaj system is established in Bihar, rest assured, your children will not have to go anywhere,ā he said. Acknowledging that people are hopeful that his victory will transform their lives, the JSP founder said such transformation is only possible through education and employment. āGive me three months and no one will be able to take even a single rupee as bribe for making a ration card here. Anyone entitled to a ration card will receive the full 5 kg of grain, not 4 kg.
Those over the age of 60 who are not receiving ā¹1,100 as pension should submit an application at my office. It is our responsibility to ensure that they get the money,ā he said. āCM will changeā He pointed out that ever since the Bankipur results were declared, there is no longer talk of āpolice encountersā in Bihar. āI sought your vote with the promise that if you support us, the leadership of [Chief Minister] Samrat Choudhary would change here. While the actual replacement may take time, you can already see a shift in his style of functioning.
Since the Bankipur results, the discourse in Bihar has shifted from encounters to education and employment. This is the power of your vote,ā Mr. Kishor said. He recalled his poll promise, saying that within a year, government schools will improve significantly. āIf it does not happen, then your children will study in a private school, and I will take responsibility for the fees,ā he said.
