In a heartwarming incident in Washim, Maharashtra, Kasabai Gaikwad recovered her lost ₹24,000 two years after leaving it on a bus. Bus conductor Raju Wani found the purse containing the cash and medical documents in April 2024 and deposited them at an Akola depot for safekeeping.
Wani recognised Kasabai when she boarded his bus again recently and checked her Aadhaar card, which matched the details of the missing purse. He accompanied her to the depot to safely return the entire amount of ₹24,000. Expressing her gratitude, Kasabai rewarded Wani with ₹1,100 for his honesty and integrity.
