The search for Advait Upadhyay, a techie who has been reported missing since Friday, continued on Tuesday, with police and rescue teams yet to find any trace of him despite an intensive operation involving more than 62 personnel. Teams from the Bengaluru District police, NDRF, SDRF, the Forest Department, and locals, supported by a drone team, combed the forest and surrounding areas of Shivagange Hills in an effort to locate him.
Police have recovered Advait’s motorcycle, which was found parked at the foothills of Shivagange. CCTV footage shows him parking the motorcycle before he reportedly began trekking towards the hills. Investigators have learned that Advait had sent a selfie to his fiancée shortly before switching off his mobile phone. Police have also recovered his laptop and are examining it as part of the investigation.
Investigators have so far found no reason to suggest he intended to take any extreme step. However, police are not ruling out any possibility, including foul play, and are examining the circumstances
surrounding his disappearance from multiple angles. The search operation will continue, with teams focusing on the forest terrain, trekking routes, and other areas around the hills in an effort to trace him.
