A grand ‘Tiranga’ rally, featuring a 100-meter-long national flag, was organised on Tuesday (August 11, 2026) from Kotla Circle to Konda Reddy Buruju in Kurnool city by the District Congress Committee (DCC) ahead of the Independence Day celebrations. Students, youth, Congress party leaders, activists, and representatives of various organisations, participated in the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, DCC president Kranthi Naidu Boya said that India’s independence is the result of the sacrifices made by many great leaders. It is the responsibility of every citizen to honour those sacrifices and uphold constitutional values, democracy, secularism, social justice, and national unity.
He stated that the 100-meter-long ‘Tiranga’ is not merely a national flag but a symbol of the country’s unity in diversity, the spirit of independence, and the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. He called upon students and the youth to participate in nation-building as responsible citizens.
He urged everyone to move forward with the spirit of ‘One Flag–One Nation–One India,’ transcending caste, religion, region, and politics.
