Kerala University Vice-Chancellor in-charge Mohanan Kunnummal has said the conduct and evaluation of LLB examinations will be made more transparent and efficient. He also assured strict action against those found negligent in evaluating answer scripts. The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) had staged a protest at the university, highlighting the wide variations in marks found during the revaluation of LLB examination answer sheets.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, question papers will hereafter be sent online to colleges shortly before the examination, instead of the existing practice of sending them to examination centres in advance. The university already follows this system for examinations other than LLB, he said in a statement.
Centralised valuation camps The university will also introduce centralised valuation camps for LLB examinations. Under the new system, colleges will be divided into different zones, and teachers will evaluate answer scripts at designated centralised valuation camps instead of collecting the answer scripts from camps and evaluating them from home.
Kunnummal also said that the university would seriously consider withdrawing from the K-REAP software in view of the widespread complaints being raised regarding the system.
