Apple's next big iPhone launch is still a few weeks away, but there is already plenty of talk about what the iPhone 18 Pro could bring to the table. The company is expected to unveil the new Pro models in September, and this time, the phones could come with some meaningful hardware changes. The bigger story, however, may not just be about new features. Reports suggest that Apple could also increase the price of the iPhone 18 Pro, with the phone potentially costing up to Rs 20,000 more in India than the current-generation iPhone 17 Pro. That would put its starting price at around Rs 1,54,900. Read Full Story So, what could Apple offer in return? From a new 2nm processor and bigger battery to a smaller Dynamic Island and a redesigned camera system, here are some of the biggest upgrades rumoured for the iPhone 18 Pro. A20 Pro chip The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to be powered by Apple's next-generation A20 Pro chipset.
The chip is reportedly being made using TSMC's 2nm process, moving Apple another step forward from the 3nm technology used in recent iPhones. In simple terms, the smaller manufacturing process could help Apple deliver better performance while using less power. The A20 Pro could also come with improved thermal management, which may help during demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing and AI processing. iPhone 18 Pro camera The camera system could be one of the most interesting changes. Apple's 48-megapixel main Fusion camera is reportedly set to get a variable aperture. This would allow the camera to control how much light enters the lens. That could be useful for low-light photography, portraits and depth effects. If Apple does introduce it, this could be one of the biggest camera changes to the iPhone in years. Bigger battery Apple could also increase the battery capacity of the iPhone 18 Pro series. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is reportedly expected to get a battery that is nearly 10 per cent larger than its predecessor, with some reports pointing to a capacity above 5,400mAh.
The regular Pro model could also get a larger battery. Combined with the more efficient A20 Pro chip and display, the upgrade could translate into longer battery life. Smaller Dynamic Island The Dynamic Island may also become less noticeable on the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple is reportedly working on moving some Face ID components under the display, which could reduce the size of the cut-out at the top. The overall display sizes are expected to remain similar, with the iPhone 18 Pro tipped to feature a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max a 6.9-inch panel. LTPO+ display While the screen sizes may not change, Apple could make improvements to the underlying display technology. The iPhone 18 Pro models are reportedly expected to use more efficient LTPO+ OLED panels. The technology could help reduce power consumption while maintaining Apple's ProMotion high-refresh-rate experience. This could also work alongside the larger batteries to improve overall endurance. Colours Apple could introduce some fresh colours with the iPhone 18 Pro series, including Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Gray and Silver.
