A woman alleged that Porel engaged in a sexual relationship with her under the false promise of marriage and later reneged on his commitment. An FIR was subsequently registered under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act.
Police detained Porel from the Dum Dum area and formally arrested him after extensive questioning.
